Yoga is an important component within Devi Kids. Yoga is often associated with adults, but it also has many benefits for children. Children's yoga is a delightful way to process stimuli and find inner peace. It is a playful way to impart these skills onto children.
What is children's yoga?
Children's yoga is primarily an experience where fun and tranquility take center stage, which is especially welcome in the busy world we live in. Children's yoga at Devi Kids is based around our monthly themes. In addition to the yoga poses that we do, we stimulate all the senses. We move on our own mats, use markers or explore the entire space. We pay attention to the individual needs and emotional state of the children at that moment. Children receive a lot of stimuli during the day and yoga is a wonderful way to process all these stimuli and find inner peace.
For every age
We believe it's important for children to be introduced to mindfulness in a playful way from a young age. We work with different age groups within Devi Kids, tailoring the yoga to match the developmental stage of each group. Children are guided through yoga in a playful way.
Benefits of children's yoga
During yoga, children can:
- Be themselves.
- Recognise and name their emotions.
- Listen to any discomfort in their bodies.
- Find joy in being themselves.
The effects of yoga include:
- Increased flexibility in the body.
- Positive thinking.
- Collaboration
- Relaxation in the body.
- Better processing of daily stimuli.
- Improved self-confidence and concentration.
- Encouragement of creativity and imagination.
- Getting to know your own body.
Additionally, yoga contributes to improving the posture of children. At Devi Kids, children sit on cushions or stools, which naturally promotes a straighter posture. A good posture can help prevent back and neck issues as children grow older.
